Here are some helpful resources and links to help your child and yourself throughout the school year.
Birthdays:
You may send in a treat and/or drink to the classroom on your child's birthday. We celebrate summer birthdays the end of May. Please do not send cupcakes with rings or toys on top (school rule). To avoid hurt feelings, invitations must be sent out after school unless they are addressed to the entire class.
Special Person of the Week:
This is an excellent opportunity for the children to learn more about one another. It will also allow each student to build self-confidence and a sense of accomplishment.
*Monday bring in a poster about your child. Your child can color and fill out the pre-printed one or make his/her own. We will display it in the classroom for the week, and then it will be returned to you.
*Tuesday your child will share one of his/her talents. This can be done in many ways such as sharing a photo or a memento, doing a short performance, providing a book for us to read, etc.
*Wednesday your child should bring a favorite book to read to the class. Please practice at home with parents! The book should take no longer than 10 or 15 minutes. If it is a challenging book, I would be happy to read it.
*Thursday we write a sentence or two to our special person of the week that I turn into a book.
*Friday your child may bring in a special treat to share with the class.
Snack- Please send one healthy snack (fruit, veggies, pretzels, crackers) with your child each day so he/she can “refuel” in the afternoon. Please do not send in candy, nuts, soda or juice.
Water bottles- If your child would like to bring a water bottle to the classroom, please make sure it has a no-spill top and label with name.
